Instructor:

(January 18 - April 26)
Have trouble sculpting hands and feet? Facial features not quite right? Can't understand how the neck connects to the torso, how joints connect? Michelangelo spent a lot of time sculpting thighs, hands, feet, and all kinds of body parts and positions in terra cotta in an effort to fully understand the mechanics and structure of the human form. These served as sketches for inspiration or as models for his larger stone carvings. We will emulate his quest for specific figurative information by working intensively with the model. This is not an anatomy class, but a class designed to create an understanding of form. Open to all levels.
