(February 25 - April 29)
This class will cover both traditional and contemporary methods of forming metal. Throughout the session we will investigate the possibilities of die forming to create asymmetrical forms. There will be discussion of the use of different hammers and stakes, as well as making some of our own tools. Also included in the course will be some forging of heavy sheet metal to create a spoon form. Through demonstrations and studio time, each student will leave the class with a full understanding of the various techniques used to form and manipulate the metal into desired forms. No experience necessary.
