The pigments in colored pencils are translucent and can be applied in multiple delicate washes in much the same way as a watercolor painting. Similar to the principles of painting, you will learn how to mix color hues to create shadows, make colors recede and advance, and create harmony and contrast. The colored pencil is a versatile medium and can create many different effects. Discover these fascinating techniques including sgraffito, impressed line and burnishing and the effect of colored pencils on a variety of paper surfaces.
