SA 15: Drawing With Colored Pencils
Instructor:
Carol Ann Morley
7 Weeks
Thursday
6:00 - 9:00 PM
(May 17 - June 28)
Drawing with colored pencils incorporates aspects of both painting and drawing. No longer considered the humble child's crayon by professional artists, this versatile medium is as expressive and diverse as creativity allows. From photo-realism to abstract painting, the colored pencil can mix and blend colors like a translucent watercolor. Exert more pressure and it mimics an oil painting; change the paper surface and it's a whispering pastel. The colors can be smooth as glass or rough as sandpaper just by changing techniques. Students will learn techniques to blend colors and construct hues, create texture and fine details, and control colors for special depth and atmosphere. Individual expression and growth will be encouraged. All levels welcome. Materials list sent upon registration.
