This course is designed to give students the opportunity to work in dual media. Using the live model as a springboard, we will draw and paint while exploring design concepts including form, proportion, line, composition, color and rhythm. Emphasis will be placed on structure of the figure, developing the eye and learning to see specific relationships between form, space, and value. Each class will begin with one minute warm up gestures, then will work with extended poses. For beginners it will be a new opportunity to see the figure on a continuous basis and begin to understand how to draw and paint the human form. For the advanced student, this class will present an opportunity to focus, consistently and regularly, on the figure and work on your skills of rendering the human form.
