(May 27 - July 1)
An introduction to sketching the nude in clay, with an emphasis on quick, observational modeling techniques. Life models are used throughout the course to aid in the study of proportion and basic anatomy. A series of gestural sketches and analytic studies inform an understanding of the human form. Students will learn to prepare pieces for kiln firing. This class is suitable for beginners as well as more advanced sculptors who wish to work quickly and intensively with the live model. Firing pieces costs a penny a cubic inch in the Sanctuary Arts kiln.
