Shake off those winter time blues with the Green Foundry this November. Stars and Pickles is a class for students to create priceless ornaments for family and loved ones that will last for generations! We will employ plasticene clay to make originals; and plaster molds to create multiples. Next will be the lost wax process to make bronze editions. The Lost wax process is a technique used throughout the centuries to create bronze decorative arts; and is still used today by professional foundries all over the world. A very versatile process, lost wax will allow for traditional stars, or even the German pickle ornament! We will discuss all aspects of investment casting and also learn about the patinization of bronze. Please join us this season for some holiday cheer and molten metal!
