An introduction to full figure and relief sculpture in clay, using a live model reference. Techniques for modeling from direct observation will be taught, including working with movement, proportion, volumes and planes, and the impact of gesture to create visual form. Preparation of pieces for firing will be taught. A small firing fee will be charged for pieces students decide to keep.
