"Short Term Effect" by Sean Beavers
This workshop is designed to teach students the fundamentals of painting
on location through the study of light, color, value and atmosphere through
close observation of nature along with a look at tools and techniques. With an
understanding of these principles students can more easily meet the challenges
of plein air painting: working directly from nature, constantly changing light,
and capturing the essence of a landscape quickly. Each Day will be split into
two parts, an in studio discussion of materials and techniques, and painting
on location in the seacoast area. Students will need a portable easel, painting
supplies, drinking water, food and sun protection.
