Techniques for painting rocks, trees, sea, refections, and sky will be demonstrated by the instructor to illustrate methods for tackling these simple landscape elements. The first half of this class will have an emphasis on drawing and the build-up of clean washes, as we brush-up on watercolor fundamentals- volumes, color, and composition, as a transition into painting landscape. Topics include both linear and atmospheric perspective, light, shadow. Structural composition, spatial relationships, value contrasts, and other watercolor painting techniques will be explored. Students will be evaluated at their own level. Materials list sent upon registration. This class is perfect for beginners!
