Julie Marvin Sunday May 24, 9 – 12
In this hands on workshop we will explore permaculture techniques for constructing layered sheet mulch garden beds and soil building. Permaculture is a philosophical and practical approach to creating systems that cultivate the connections between elements, reducing resource input and creating beneficial yield. Bearing these holistic design principles in mind, we will also touch on garden bed location, composting and water harvesting. The workshop will start with an introduction to the principles and construction methods, then we will proceed to the garden for hands on work. There will be time for discussion, feel free to bring pictures or maps of your property. This workshop will take place at Sanctuary Arts, where permaculture design practices are being introduced to it’s landscape plan. Wear work clothes and bring gloves.
