THE ELEMENTS OF LANDSCAPE: BUILDING A HOW-TO NOTEBOOK
Bill Paarlberg,
10 Weeks
Friday 2 – 5, February 1 – April 5
Tuition $300

by Bill Paarlberg

This class will develop confidence in the beginning and intermediate student by teaching basic drawing and painting techniques for portraying fundamental landscape features. Each class will address a different subject: sky, trees, water, buildings, rocks, figures, boats, perspective, composition, and more. Demonstrations will be provided in a variety of media, including watercolor, pencil, and pen and ink, but the techniques will be relatively simple and applicable to most media. We will refer to work by other artists and teachers. Students are welcome to work in the media of their choice. Students will make notes and studies in their own notebooks, which, by the end of the class will become their own how-to guide to what works best for them. Materials list provided upon registration.
