CLASSICAL FIGURE DRAWING

Learn the classical atelier method of life drawing. Students will first focus on the importance of blocking in shapes correctly. After accurately indicating light and dark shapes, student will slowly “turn the form” and create a finished drawing. The first two meetings will focus on blocking in shapes. The remainder of the time will be allotted to complete one finished figure drawing. Proportion, anatomy, and the nature of light will be among the concepts covered. Students will be exposed to the work of master artists, both historical and contemporary.
