European Bee Eater by Jennifer Field

Come explore the exciting and clean medium of wool fleece for creating soft sculptures. In the first two classes students will be exposed to both wet and needle felting with a couple of fun little projects. Students will then have 4 weeks to complete a personalized project of their choice. We will start with creating an armature and then use the different needle and wet felting techniques introduced, first in natural un-dyed wool and then in color, to build an animal, figure, freeform sculpture or jewelry piece. Bring a sketchbook, an old towel, SHARP scissors and your imagination. Material/tool kit includes wire, wool fleece, needle and wet felting tools. A 3 needle pink Clover needle pen is required (available online or from the instructor for $14) Additional needles, needle holders, fleece and glass eyes and beads will be available from instructor for an additional cost.
