The carousel book is created using three accordion folded pages that are precisely cut and assembled so that the book opens to form several “shadow box” style pages in a rounded format. Photographs can also be used with this form but for the purpose of this workshop, we will be creative with the paper instead. Images will be created by cutting the paper, drawing, and painting. Students should come to class with a simple story idea that can be told in 6 pages. Some examples: a cat chases a mouse around the page and finally eats it at the end, a boy and girl meet and kiss, the moon changes phases….
