WAX CARVING & MOLDMAKING FOR JEWELRY

This Wax Carving Class will accommodate beginners and experienced alike and is taught by a professional designer/sculptor with 20 years experience. We will explore the 3 types of jeweler’s carving wax and carve projects in each,. Form and function will be addressed along with careful planning and execution. Students will learn the dynamics of carving, safe and creative use of tools, application of different types of surface texture and finishing techniques. Connections, additions of wax and casting considerations will be integrated into the projects. Hot wax pens will be available and students are encouraged to bring their own tools to augment the tools in the class kit. Class will include demonstrations, discussions and one on one attention. A sketchbook or soft wax 3D mockups will aid the student in furthering their ideas. Tool list and sources provided upon registration.
