Wordpress is not only a popular blogging tool, but also a user-friendly content management system, which makes it perfect for building websites for artists so that they can update their resume, images and other content whenever they want instead of having to go thru a webmaster. Students will build a website in Wordpress from start to finish using a portfolio theme supplied by the instructor. The site will include a home page, about page, portfolio page, contact page and even a blog. It is recommended that students have a basic understanding of formatting images (cropping, sizing, etc) in either photoshop or similar image editing software. Additional cost includes hosting and domain name. (Currently this is $53.88/12 months thru GoDaddy). We will sign up together for the hosting and domain name at the first class, students will need to sign up using their own credit cards as the billing for hosting occurs yearly.
