This course will focus on observational drawing skills and will cover the study of light on form, perspective and composition. Working from still life set ups we will make graphite studies and then explore the language of color, finding the right colored pencil combination to create visual depth and color contrast for an expressive color rendering. Personal projects and individual expression and topics will be encouraged. Class begins with acquiring colored pencil techniques and understanding color theory. Suitable for all levels, no previous colored pencil experience necessary.
