From the controversy of who did the first “drip” paintings to the powerhouse painters of the 9th street women. Women had tremendous influence in the development of Abstract Painting and Abstract Expressionism. We will look at those influences and see how your own painting may benefit from examining various techniques and ideas coming out of the early and middle parts of the last century. All mediums welcome as we focus on how the materials of art become more and more the art itself.
