Saturday & Sunday, February 7 & 8
2 Days, 10 – 4p
In this immersive two-day workshop, students will explore strategies for creating lifelike flesh tones in oil paint. Working from master images, we will study practical color-mixing methods — including structured palette “recipes” — for accurately representing a range of complexions and ethnic backgrounds. The instructor will demonstrate each day, using a palette organization system of his own design, based on a synthesis of the Fitzpatrick complexion scale and the color approach of Frank J. Reilly. This workshop is ideal for painters seeking greater confidence and sensitivity in rendering the figure or portrait in oil.
