SA 18 A Tuesday 10 – 1 June 3 – July 22 (no class July 1)
SA 18 B Thursday 5:30 – 8:30 June 5 – July 24 (no class July 3)
In this relaxed class designed for the curious, we will explore basic handbuilding construction methods, focusing on pinch pots and slab work. From a humble tea bowl to sculptural forms, handbuilding technique offers the ability to create a wide array of forms. Students will use molds and templates, along with a variety of surface decoration and glazing treatments. All levels of experience are welcome. In addition, open studio times are available for enrolled students. $65 lab fee (included in tuition) includes 25# of clay, use of studio glazes and firings. A suggested tool list will be provided.
