With access to rocky shoreline, wooded groves, and expansive gardens, we’ll have a wide range of compelling subjects to explore. Focusing on trees and rocks, this course emphasizes approaching the landscape through clear, specific points of interest. Students will learn to simplify complex natural forms and translate them into structured, dimensional paintings. Through demonstrations and individual guidance, we’ll cover a practical approach to layering, value organization, and the development of color and form in plein air.
