Create a meaningful, lifelike portrait while learning the foundations of classical oil painting. Working from reference, students will be guided through a structured process including drawing, proportion, underpainting, and flesh-tone development. You’ll learn how to take and select strong reference images using a live model, and how to translate those references into a clear, dimensional painting. Students may choose to work from these images or bring in their own reference of a loved one. By the end of the session, you’ll have a finished portrait and a stronger understanding of how to approach portrait painting with confidence and clarity.
$20 model fee included in tuition
