SA 7 THE TEXTURES OF FALL IN WATERCOLOR with Margaret Dwyer
6 Weeks
Wednesday 2 – 5:30, October 1 – November 5
Autumn in Maine provides an abundance of color and subject matter to be inspired by. Creating natural looking textures in watercolor can greatly enhance landscapes, seascapes, florals, and more. Adding texture can also transform the character of simple specimens from the natural world, such as rocks, tree bark, and leaves. The variety of visual textures inspired by nature can be suggested with a combination of traditional and unconventional mark-making techniques. Simply knowing techniques is not enough. You must understand the timing of when they will work. This class series will include demonstrations of techniques, brushwork, and informed color choices. A combination of playful studies may inspire you to go in your own direction with a more developed piece.
