Colored pencils are fun to play with but can also be daunting to control. This class will focus on problem solving to achieve the colors you want in your art work. We begin with making colored palettes to explore what hue, value and chroma means. Successful results are all in your choice of color and how you mix and layer those colors. Learning how to apply color to form we will study some basic shapes and make graphite studies before creating the colored model, then we explore colors that are intense, subdued, warm and cool and those that will give depth and contrast. This will lay the foundation for any subject you wish to portray with colored pencils. Also included are some fun-colored pencil techniques. All levels welcome. $2 lab fee included in tuition.
